Providing a facility that opens a further expression of the ancient Khmer traditions guests absorb on daily treks to the vast ruins of Angkor, the Amansara Spa is accessed along a pathway paralleled by a long reflecting pool. Steps lead up to a reception area which is flanked by a courtyard garden and an ancient Rain Tree. Guests may choose from four treatment rooms, each with an attached private relaxation room. Equipped with a steam bath, shower and music system, this private relaxation room features glass walls overlooking a tranquil reflection pool backed by a 43m Angkor-inspired sandstone bas relief. Baths, showers, a sound system, and massage and beauty treatments making use of traditional Cambodian techniques and natural products, combine to imbue the Amansara Spa with the peace of a tranquil refuge.
Amansara has a team of skilled masseuses providing a range of traditional treatments that may be enjoyed in the spa treatment rooms, privacy of the suites, by the poolside or on the roof terrace. Treatments include, 'Scents of Cambodia' utilising blended oils, 'Touch of the East' which is an oil-free stretch and acupressure release and the 'Amansara foot cooler' that will restore temple-weary feet with a peppermint scrub and massage. A highlight is the 'Teap bourn', which translates as 'Four healing angels from heaven'. This is a skillful, oil-free, intuitive massage by a blind therapist (two are available at Amansara) with a portion of the fee going to their care and maintenance.
The Spa’s menu and its treatments, in the Aman view, not only provide relief from the physical exertions of exploration but reflect holistic Khmer traditions readily discernable throughout Angkor’s great temple complex.
